"ONE OF THE BEST SKI
MOVIES OF 2001" "This all-jib
movie is newcomer Josh Berman's testament to the talent of today's
lesser-known jib-stars. Berman set out to document the East's new-school
scene, but ended up with a film that highlights today's best young jibbers
ripping Eastern terrain parks and Whistler's summer camps...."

16 April 2002: Appointed
member of the US Ski Team in Aerials
2002 Lake Placid
Aerial Meet
Jeremy cranking
the winning back DoubleFull-Full at Lake Placid, 2002.
Posthumously awarded the Jeremy April Memorial
Cup in 2003.
By the 2001-2002 season as a
member of the US Development Team Jeremy climbed the podium four times:
the Bronze Medal in the NorAm at Fortress, Canada; two first places in
the Eastern Inverted Aerial meet at the Lake Placid Olympic Jump Complex
(picture left);
and a Silver Medal in the Junior Olympics at Sugarloaf Maine.
Currently
ranked 8th in US Inverted Aerials, Jeremy was selected to the US Aerial Ski
Team. Jeremy's position on the US Aerial
C-Team provides starts in World Cup aerial events at venues within the
US as well as in all NorAm events.
In addition to the two first place medals
for winning both aerial events, Jeremy was awarded the Inverted
Aerial Combined Trophy. This trophy became the Jeremy April
Memorial Cup.
Posthumously in February 2003, Jeremy became the first
recipient of the Jeremy April
Memorial Cup which continues the tradition of the
Inverted Aerial Combined Trophy to honor annually the top male and female aerialists in the Eastern Unites States.

"This
summer [2000] was an important experience in my training. Since
I finished so well this past competition season, I was invited
to train with the US Aerial Team. I found myself in Park City,
Utah, training with the current, and 3-time World Champion,
Olympic Gold-Medalist. We were not rival competitors, nor
professional and amateur, but actual teammates. I watched in
awe as he trained, always pushing himself to break through
boundaries and obstacles, and to exceed his limits. His
persistence and determination sparked my own journey for
perfection. I trained harder and long that I ever have. My US
Team coach and I watched hours of videotape, dissecting and
criticizing my jumps and other's. I emerged on a higher
plateau, where I now understand why things work the way they do
and how I can execute the mechanics perfectly when I jump. My
interest in physics and bio-mechanics also adds a higher level
understanding. I look forward to this winter so that I may
apply my new knowledge and demonstrate my own level of
perfection."
To
February
in 2000 Jeremy had two top-5
mogul finishes: a 2nd (Okemo, video above) and a 5th (Lake Placid) which
ranked him 10th in the Eastern Division. He also won inverted
air at Rosmary Bowl and took 2nd place in the GSR Terrain-park
air. Jeremy was named to the US Junior World Freestyle
Team for Inverted Aerials.
Waterville
Valley, NH, February 3, 2000. During bump practice on
boiler-plate Bobby's
Run in the last Eastern Freestyle competition of the
season, Jeremy missed his landing after
the second jump and blew out his knee, thus ending a most
promising season...
